What will your life be like in three years? Daily writing Prompt

Well, I know what will definitely be as it is resilient to any forms of medication, is my Chronic Widespread Pain Syndrome, (CFS) or Fibromyalgia. I have had it for nearly 15 years and I have an idea that in three years it will still be with me.

On a happier note, I hope that my journey which started today with my newly contracted Editor will be blooming, and the book in which she is reading will have been published and I might be in the midst of writing/finishing off its follow up! Who knows?!

I have had to wait to feel comfortable in asking for help. I am now 52, I have no children and I do not work. Everything I do is it snails pace due to my CFS, and I always feel apologetic for my lack of oomph! I used to be a bit of a burning the candle at both ends sort of person, and was always busy busy busy, so now I am the complete opposite! It’s embarrassing! I am also a bit of perfectionist which does not bode well in critical arenas! I have learnt to have a slightly thicker skin and just to live and let live. Take one day at a time etc etc. Being ill has certainly helped with the old ego. You can’t have a big ego if you crap yourself when you’re stressed!

Ooops! Is that what I said! Yup, one of the disadvantages of the illness is that stress is literally a pain in the arse, and that’s not going anyway either!

I am hoping to celebrate 20 years with my partner in 3 years time. This is the longest I have been with anybody, except my Parents and my Siblings! Or the rest of the family!

I am also hoping that all of the family are still in good health. That my 2 dogs are still alive, although they will be doddery. That my friends are still with me and healthy.

On another note, I really hope that the World has not collapsed in on itself: no WWIII, pray that Trump doesn’t get in, hope beyond hope that the Labour Party realises that taxing the poor is a really bad idea! That things always get worse before they get better apparently – I thought that this only applied to colds and the flu! (Labours way of promising that things will get better).

And, that the people of the USA realise that Science is a necessary and worthy issue to read about, along with the detriments that they are causing to the Earth. I have friends who live in the USA, and they tell me that most Americans do not believe Science, and that Global Warming is not a real issue. I am speechless!

If I knew what a bark meant

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could understand our pets’ language?

I’ve had many cats in the past and nearly got to understanding them, they have far more facial nuances that dogs do. Dogs tend to scrunch up their noses, do the sad eyes, “Have I done something wrong” look, and snuggle down down with you for affection. Rejection wise, although I have never had a dog do this, you have to treat them badly, is the tail hunched down between their legs. That is a sign of utter fear.If I ever see a dog like that, and I have – I wanted to beat the living daylights out of the owner! I always wonder they have done, probably nothing.

If you look on the internet the silly dog pictures tend be be of them wearing comical jumpers/hats/shoes/Deely Boppers/head through curtains/upside down if huge dog trying to be small! There’s also the one ear up, one ear down.

Cats on the other hand do not need props. Perhaps on occasion they have a massive German Shepherd cuddling them as a kitten, but on the main cats are themselves. Googled eyed, flat out on a desk, legs stretched out forwards and backwards. Upside down fluff ball, which way is their head/tail? Knocking items off shelves, ok it’s a prop, sitting in a box even if the cat is a Maine Coon and the box is a tissue box!

Anyway. Yes, if I knew what my dogs are trying to tell me I’d be much happier. They are both getting on a bit and as I write this one of them has started limping again. She always has this problem in her right leg, and despite us getting them checked out at least once per year – vaccinations – the vet says they are in good health. The dog has a bionic leg already. I give them green-lipped mussel multivitamins everyday with glucosamine, an ingredient used by humans for arthritis.

But there is that thing they do to try and hide pain. In the wild, any sign of pain and you are left behind by the pack. You are no use to them lame.

We rescued them, and will continue to rescue them up until their dying days.

Conspiracies promote ill health

Now, 16 years later…we have outbreaks of the Measles, Rubella and in some cases Mumps.Do you know what Mumps can do to a male? Measles can kill or leave you very much incapacitated, and Rubella is horrifying. I think whooping cough is making a come back too, and not in a good way!

For a start all of these illnesses are preventable, why bring them back?

The following are true symptoms of the diseases, for that is what they are.

Measles

  • Diarrhea
  • Pneumonia
  • Encephalitis (inflammation of the brain)
  • Blindness
  • Deafness
  • Premature birth or low-birthweight baby (in unvaccinated pregnant women who get measles during pregnancy)
  • Reduced immunity to other deadly diseases
  • Death

Rubella

Rubella infection creates mild symptoms in most children and adults, but can cause serious health problems when it happens during pregnancy:

  • Rubella virus infection is the leading cause of vaccine-preventable birth defects.
  • A pregnant woman infected with rubella in early pregnancy has up to a 90% chance of giving birth to a baby with congenital rubella syndrome (CRS). Birth defects of CRS include:
    • Heart defects
    • Hearing loss
    • Glaucoma
    • Cataracts
    • Developmental delay

Mumps can cause:

  • deafness – usually with partial or complete recovery
  • swollen, painful testicles in older boys and men
  • miscarriage in pregnant women
  • meningitis

So there’s a happy list of joyous symptoms. Of course being in a wonderful Western World, we can take our little Cherubs to the Doctors and get them vaccinated now instead. Not all people have this valuable and taken for granted service. People in poorer countries face this all of the time. Note the reduced immunity to other deadly diseases. This could even be Covid that strikes you down.

People seem to have stopped washing their hands/using surgical handwash/wearing a mask. I’ve had a cold now for months! Just as it goes I meet someone who has had Covid – cripes! Because of the vaccines working so well, it is up to your employer as to whether you take time off if you are ill. My partners company deny you time off if you test positive for Covid. Even if you are crawling on the floor not breathing.

The most terrible thing about this is that he is not just sat in an office breathing his own air, he is driving to different customers across the land and going from cleanish outside air into stuffy offices with or without air conditioning, with lots or not so many other people with their versions of many germs.- here is where air conditioning comes into its own, spreading the germs evenly throughout the office! I once worked in an open plan office and suffered cold after cold after cold! The boss and his deputy had separate offices; they were not fools.

So what to do? Common sense, that most people seem to be without nowadays. If you can’t get out of bed, don’t. If you can not breathe without copious amounts of Vicks/Beconase/Sudafed stay away from me! If you must go out, wear a mask. There are some people who do this. It is mainly because they are stopping you from polluting them, not the other way around!
